About Us

Palapas Restaurant & Cantina opened August 1990 in the Seascape Village Shopping Center, Aptos, California. Owner Mark Holcomb developed Seascape Village and the four diamond Seascape Resort located across the street on the ocean bluff overlooking Monterey Bay. The design for Palapas was based on a typical Mexican palapa with ceilings of wood and palm fronds.

Years of trips to Mexico helped influence the style of the restaurant. The menu offers tropical Mexican seafood with emphasis on fresh local seafood and produce. Traditional meat and poultry dishes complete the varied menu. Palapas is a family restaurant that supports the local community.
